Battle Plan For Dry Skin

Hydration is the process of replacing water in the body. This can be done through drinking water, eating ice chips, eating foods that have high water content, drinking other fluids or an intravenous or IV line. Being dehydrated is when your body is lacking the water levels necessary to function optimally

We are all feeling the effects of the change in our lifestyle over the past few weeks and none more so than on our skin. We are all struggling with the pressures of home schooling, working from home, drinking more coffee, having the odd little treat and ignoring our skin care routine…AAAHHHH…

Just because we are not going out to work and not applying makeup every day does not mean that we can ignore our skin care routine. Ours skin doesn’t know the corona virus has disrupted our world!!
SO! If your skin is feeling tight, irritated dry or red and blotchy, here is my advice.

It’s time to BOOST your Skins Hydration

  • Re-commit to your Morning and Night skin Care routine. YES..even if you’re not wearing makeup during the day. Your skin will thank you for it!
  • Cut down on the Coffee and experiment with some herbal teas. Find one you like. There’s no need to torture yourself with one you don’t!
  • Make a conscious effort to have water or herbal tea within arm’s reach.Use a sunscreen if you are out walking. Let’s face it we are all getting out more than ever now just to get out of the house. UVA is the aging ray and in Ireland unfortunately it’s the only UV we are guaranteed of!
  • If you have stopped taking your daily supplements well start again. Believe it or not Omega 3 prevents the skin from losing moisture.
  • Alcohol dehydrates the skin BUT as it’s considered an essential necessity in these challenging times!! I would suggest you drink two glasses of water for every one unit of alcohol.
